VA CEMETERY BURIAL

From $3,995

Of the many benefits the Veterans Administration (V.A.) provides to our veterans, the most honorable benefit is burial space at at a VA National Cemetery.

At no charge, the V.A. Houston National Cemetery provides for both the Veteran and his/her Surviving Spouse:

  • Grave Space
  • Burial Vault
  • Headstone
  • Opening/Closing of the Grave

The cost for all of these items at most Houston cemeteries would total $6,000 to $10,000 each


The V.A. does not cover the funeral home costs, but we honor our veterans and their spouses with burial packages below.

Events held at the cemetery throughout the year

  • All necessary documentation, transportation, and fees for one-day funeral at church, chapel, or graveside, followed by burial at Houston National Cemetery.
  • Add one night visitation $500
  • Coordinating service with cemetery, clergy, military, etc.
  • Coordinating basic military honors with branch of service
  • Add rifle salute honors: $100
  • Embalming, Dressing, and basic Cosmetics
  • Additional charges if autopsy has been performed
  • Additional charges for patients over 250 lbs.
  • U.S. Flag draped on casket
  • Add Casket Flower Spray $350 (for veteran's spouse)
  • Guest book, 50 memorial folders
  • 2 official death certificates
  • Casket

Our Funeral Packages do not include:

  • Donations for church, clergy, or musicians
  • Family Limousines (from $500)
  • Police Escorts (from $600)
  • Specialized cosmetics
  • Restorative Work
  • Please Note: The VA Cemetery does not allow open casket on the cemetery grounds, so any viewing/visitation would be done prior to arrival.
