The steps that we take in the cremation process:

  • When death occurs, we go to the place of death and bring your loved one into our care. (Immediately)
  • We prepare the death certificate and submit it to the doctor's office for certification and signature. (24-48 hours, once the family has reviewed the certificate)
  • Once the doctor has completed his/her portion of the death certificate, we are able to obtain our cremation permit. (1-5 additional days, depending on how long the doctor takes to sign)
  • Once we have the cremation permit, we submit the permit to the crematory, and the cremation is scheduled. (1-2 additional days)
  • When the cremation is complete, we bring your loved one's cremated remains back to our funeral home the next day. (1 additional day)

Please note that the vital statistics offices and most doctors' offices are closed on weekends and most holidays.

Please also note that, by Texas state law, we must wait at least 48 hours from the time of death before the cremation can take place.
