Stephen Todd Marler

December 31, 1965 ~ July 1, 2021 (age 55)

Kind, loving, and witty, Todd Marler left this life on July 1, 2021 after an extended illness. With the heart of a champion, he ran his race with courage, determination, and faith right to the finish line. Well done good and faithful servant.

Todd was born in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama on Dec 31, 1965, and lived the first half of his life in Snellville, Georgia. He graduated from South Gwinnett High School and attended Georgia Institute of Technology before embarking on a thirty year career in the IT industry. After college he worked for Parsons Engineering Science in Atlanta, Ga as an IT lead. Then, he transferred with Perot Systems to Houston where he managed a help desk team with WorleyParsons. In 2005, he became the Standards and Change Manager. In 2006 he became the U.S. IT Delivery Manager and in 2011, Global IT PMO Manager. From 2016-2019, he was the Global Asset and Configuration Manager for Worley. Todd was a team player who made many friends throughout his career and was well respected for his professional contributions.

Todd was an avid reader, interested in art, music, and history. He enjoyed reading historical novels and watching the History Channel. He loved learning the history of words and enjoyed creating witty puns. He wanted to learn more about art and loved strolling through the Museum of Fine Art with his family. He listened to all types of music and enjoyed helping his daughter with her piano practice.

Todd was loved by all who knew him. His mom Judy remembers what a smart and sweet child he was. His wife Mary remembers his friendship, intelligence, and grit. His daughter Miya remembers him as the best daddy (and math and science tutor) with the best corny dad jokes. Todd lived his life by example and showed others that all things are possible with consistency, determination, and faith.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Franklin Marler. He is survived by his mother Judy Pfannkuche, wife Mary Marler, daughter Miya Marler, mother-in-law Sylvia Rogers, father-in-law Ernest Rogers, brother-in-law Stephen Cooper, along with extended family and close friends.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held soon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation in Todd’s memory to a charity of your choice.
