Shirley Pannell

Shirley Jean Tipps Pannell passed away on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her family.  She was born January 15th, 1950, in Henderson, Texas to the late Bradford Gail and Zera Mae Stafford Tipps.  She graduated from Henderson High School in 1968.  After graduation she worked as a nursing assistant at the nursing home her grandmother lived in, and later worked on the factory floor that made Anderson-Hickey office furniture where she operated the blast furnace.  She would then meet the love of her life and spend the next 46 years being a wife and mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 46 years W.R. “Sonny” Pannell, and brother Billy G Tipps of Henderson, Texas.

She leaves behind her son Rodney Pannell, stepdaughter Becky Dunkerson and husband Randy, their children Kolten and Kirsten Dunkerson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
