Scott Gilbreath

Scott Ray Gilbreath passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2021. He was the son of Delmarie and Ulmer Ray Gilbreath, born on January 1, 1956 in Ft. Worth, Texas

He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, peepaw, and friend who will be missed terribly.

He graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1974 and Sam Houston State University. He worked in Sales and service as a dedicated employee for over 40 years while living in Houston, Lufkin, and Spring,Texas.

He is survived by his mother, Delmarie Howell Gilbreath, two sisters, Sandy (Bill) and Susan (Lloyd), and his wife, Roxanne Steed. He also leaves behind his four children, Spencer (Amanda), Alissa (Justin), Karly (Irvin) and Amber (Mitchel), stepdaughter, Shelley, and the lights of his life, grandchildren, Carson, Makayla, Kaci, Jayden, Jaxson, Maci, Jason, Julie, Madison and Lauren, Tristan, and nephews, Cary Cooper and Baron Spring. And a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ulmer Ray Gilbreath, one grandchild, Ayden Havard and grandparents Ulmer and Floy Gilbreath and Raymond and Bonnie Howell.

Scott never met a stranger and was always quick with a joke or to lend a hand. He was a very humble man and a true kind and gentle soul.

Scott was a devoted father and his children were his pride and joy. A large portion of raising his family in Lufkin was spent supporting his children with extracurricular activities, be it as a coach or on the sidelines.

Scott enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was often referred to as Mr. Fix-It. While living in Spring, he frequented the local Kroger and never missed a Manager's Special. His special place and time was spent working at the Thomala family property in north Louisiana which gave him peace of mind.

A memorial service will be held at Cypress Creek Christian Church, 6823 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX 77379 on November 20 at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
