Obituary for Milton Joseph Lassair, Jr.

On June 14, 2021, Milton Joseph Lassair, Jr. went home to be with his Heavenly Father. His life was well lived, and he was well-loved.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Sr. and Arthemease Lassair. He is remembered with love by his former wife and best friend Dorothy, Son Steven (Melinda), Daughters: Lynette Scott, Kimberly (Alloy) Harrison, Lisa (Pateros) Woodson, Grandsons: Mark, Nathan, Nicholas, Jaiden, Elijah, Evan, Alexander, Ari, Granddaughters: Brittany, Tiffany; Siblings Cynthia, Kathy, Gregory, Keith, Kevin (Terrilyn), Cornell, Erick (Nicole), Charlotte, Denese, Patricia; Brother-in-law Robert (Oraiel) Wroten, Sisters-in-law, Deloris (Louis) Payne, and Helen Cooks; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and his close friends Larry (Dawna) Langley, Murphy (Sicilia) Carr, Aiko, and her mom Nurgul.

Milton was born on February 27, 1947, in New Orleans, LA. He met Dorothy in New Orleans in 1965 and they married and began their lives together in Huntington, NY. Together they have traveled the world with Milton’s favorite places being Paris, London, Turkey, Kazakhstan (the people and culture) Portugal, and Hawaii (the landscapes and beauty). He loved sports and music- his favorites were football (lifelong New Orleans Saints fan) track and field, jazz, classical, and Motown Classics. He played the tuba and trumpet. Milton was an electrician by trade, but his real love was Real Estate. After he retired he earned his Real Estate license and focused on investing. His passion was researching homes, learning the nuances of neighborhoods, architectural styles, and home values. If he was driving, you were going on a neighborhood tour.

Milton loved his family and friends. His earthly life ended with him deeply committed to the Catholic Faith.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church (Austin, TX) on Wednesday, June 30 at 11:00 am. A Committal Service and interment will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery (14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, TX,78660) directly following the Mass.
