Mary Moorhead

Mary Ruth Moorhead, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 27, 2023.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Fenton Moorhead; and her parents, Hank and Mary Visser. She is survived by her brother Paul (Sharon), her three children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, and two great grandsons, all of whom she loved and entertained very much.

Mary was born August 31, 1941, in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Miami High School, then married Fenton in 1960. She attended Mississippi College, then helped Fenton complete his college and seminary education. She was a faithful support to Fenton throughout his ministry, while raising their three children. Together they served churches in North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Texas, and South Carolina. Mary enjoyed serving in women’s ministry, organizing mission trips, and helping to welcome new members into the church.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 1, 11 am in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Worship Center, Sugar Land, TX, with a reception to follow.
