Joseph Blaise

December 7, 1946 — September 7, 2020

Joseph D. Blaise Jr. was born on December 7, 1946 in Lafayette, LA to Joseph and Mabel Blaise. Early in his life, his family moved to Orange, TX where he grew up. He graduated from M.B. North High School in 1965. In 1967 he enlisted in the US Air Force and began what would become a nearly 23 year career serving as a Security Policeman. After assignments in Maine and Thailand, he was stationed in Taiwan where he would meet his bride and begin a family. Future assignments took him to Kansas, Germany, and then finally back to Texas where he retired in San Angelo. In 1995, he moved to Huntsville, TX where he worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Corrections Officer. He also fulfilled his lifelong dream of building a home on a piece of property with a body of water on it so he could fish. After retiring again, he could be found doing one of his three favorite things; fishing, barbequing, or singing Karaoke. He was much beloved by all who know him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Joseph D. Blaise III (Linda) of Cypress, TX; his daughter Cynthia Blaise Morrissette (Cynthia) of Disputanta, VA; two sisters, Gwendolyn Kelly (Donald) of San Angelo, TX and Jacqueline Kindle of Orange, TX; and his granddaughter, Alexandria A. Blaise of Cypress, TX.
