Obituary

Joe Audie Rosson, passed from this earth to be with his heavenly Father on April 21, 2021. He was born in Kerrville, Oct 1, 1950 and lived in San Antonio during his childhood, graduating in 1969 from Thomas A. Edison H.S.  He was very proud of his heritage being a charter member of the Descendents of Austin’s Old Three Hundred and member of the Former Texas Rangers Association.  He was also a proud member of the San Antonio Iron Worker’s Union 66 and later Houston Local #84.  He led a very interesting life working in various locations around the country including the Golden Gate Bridge, The World Trade Center, Minute Maid Baseball Park in Houston, Cardinal Football Stadium and the Sky Dive Arizona. Joe loved working as an iron worker despite the many dangers and cheated death on several occasions at times he was injured with life threatening injuries. He loved fishing and hunting and often reminisced about his favorite hunting spot on his grandfather’s ranch. He was a founding member of the Organized Confusion Cookers and won many awards for his BBQ.  Joe is well known by his friends and family as being very creative with his tall tales and life experiences. Joe was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Cypress, Texas. Joe was appreciative and grateful for the love and support he received from his wonderful neighbors and friends.  Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and his son Jason Brent, his parents Robert and Coleen. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Bobby) Pirie III and Randall Keith Rosson(Yana). His grandchildren, Jacob Pirie and Jessica Pirie, honorary grandson Justin.  His loyal companion and caregiver, Sally Morrison, sisters, Phyllis Poehlmann (Terry), Linda Moynahan (Michael), Marilyn Acuff (David), Brenda Rodgers (Daniel), 3 aunts, Jean Dreiss, LaVerne Benton, and Jo Gayle Rhoades, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.   Viewing at 11:00 a.m. followed by service at 11:30, April 26. Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 20155 Cypress Wood Dr, Cypress, Texas 77429. Pastor Ben Burnside will conduct the services.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
