Harry Newell Talley was born April 6, 1941 in Houston, TX and passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021 at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert & MaryJane Talley, sister Joanne Eggleston and his youngest son Trenton Talley.

He attended San Jacinto High School and was part of the Almeda High Rollers which was a group of guys that loved cars and hung out at Princess Hamburgers on South Main. He even built a race car, did a little drag racing and won a trophy. He worked as a service writer at Sam Montgomery Oldsmobile. He soon developed his skill as a carpenter and joined the Local Carpenters Union 213 in Houston. He belonged to the union for many years working on monumental projects in Houston such as the Galleria, Greenway Plaza, and several buildings downtown. He was proud to be a part of building the Texas Cyclone Roller Coaster at the Astroworld Theme Park.

He loved cars, motorcycle’s, fishing, crabbing, going to the store every day and his favorite thing of all was going to the Coushatta Casino to try his luck for the big win. He had a soft spot for animals and always had a dog. He enjoyed raising and selling goats when he lived in Rosharon. Horses were a big part of his childhood that carried over to his adult life of owning and riding his horse which, he loved dearly.

Harry loved his family and he always made sure to let them know it when he said goodbye, he always added a very heartfelt “I love you”. He made sure to teach the kids life lessons such as hard work, how to work on cars, change a tire, change the oil, how to peel out when you need to get away. He was a very important part of his two nieces Brenda and Dawn and his nephew Paul’s upbringing.

Harry is survived by his son Gary Talley wife (Liz), daughter-in-law Donna Talley, Grandsons Josh Talley, wife (Zeny), Bryan Talley wife (Laura), Trenton Talley Jr and Granddaughter Brittney Talley and 3 Great Grandchildren Kaden, Colten and Ella Talley.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospital in Clear Lake for the compassion and care they provided to Harry and to Grace Personal Care Home for going over and beyond to fulfill his needs.
