Catherine Valadez-Shapero

Catherine, first born, had a very spicy spirit, always being a little momma to her little sister, Magdalena.   They took care of each other in school, until they were older and went to different schools. Catherine graduated from Scarborough High School and went on to Boston University to study Opera Performance and Business hence met the love of her life, Adam Shapero.  Graduating from Boston University in 1982 and devoted to Adam and her job, they decided to tie the knot in 1990.  Happily married for 24 years and in 2006 a beautiful curly hair, brown eyed baby boy was born to them.  Terrific mom and wife always making sure her son was well taken care of with the newest toys of the century.  Catherine’s spirit has always been strong, full of energy, and ready to learn, she performed in many weddings, sang many different operas all over, and enjoyed singing at her church, St. Ambrose Catholic Church.  As the dedicated mother she was, Catherine was the only female parent that went to the Boy Scout Camps with her son so that he would not miss out.  She totally loved and cherished her son and even taught him to sing as well.

Catherine will be missed by many.  She was known in the musical world as a great soprano! Her mother passed away a few years ago; but now she will join her in God’s precious mansion.

Catherine is survived by her father, Arthur Z. Valadez, sister Magdalena Valadez Bazan and son, Robert Shapero. She will join uncles and aunts that have already gone to join the Lord in the great palace in the heavens.  Catherine will be leaving behind many aunts, uncles, dear cousins and friends whom will miss her tremendously. We love you Cathy!
