Benny Comeaux

Benny Joe Comeaux, age 66, died at his home in Seabrook, TX on July 8, 2021 after a short battle with ALS.

Benny was born on September 20, 1954 in Port Arthur, Texas. He was the youngest child of Clesmé and Beryl Comeaux. He was a 1973 graduate of Nederland High School. After high school he went to work at Akzo later named Albemarle. He worked there for 35 years before retiring.

Benny was an avid outdoorsman, and particularly loved to fish. He was a Houston Astros fan and enjoyed watching their games.  He is survived by his sister, Carol Marsh and husband Ted, brother, Dale Comeaux and wife Libby, daughter, Brittney Cline and husband, Michael, and son, Darion Comeaux and wife, Sarah, and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his long-time companion Mary Vega, her daughter, Christa Grayson, and two granddaughters. Benny also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clesmé and Beryl.

A special thanks to Mary Vega for all her care and support during Benny’s illness. As well as his friend, Ricky, for being a helping hand whenever needed.

Memorial services will take place at Seabrook Community House, 1210 Anders Ave., Seabrook, TX 77586, on Saturday, August 7th at 12pm. We invite friends to join us to share stories and celebrate Benny’s life.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ALS Association of Texas.
