Vincent Mercedes Ortiz, Jr.

Vincent Mercedes Ortiz Jr., known as “Vince”, “Junior” or “BeBe”, passed away on May 8, 2025 at the age of 76. He was a proud Vietnam veteran and devoted family man. He was a man who met life with a warm heart, a generous laugh, and strong spirit. His optimism and willingness to always help family, friends and strangers has left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He joins his wife, Sheri, and his parents, Rosie & Vincent “Bimbo” Ortiz, with our Heavenly Father. He is survived by his two children Vincent Wayne Ortiz and Michelle Marie Bakal, as well as his sisters Rebecca Salazar and Evangeline “Angie” Tobias, along with numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. The funeral service honoring his life will be held at Houston National Cemetery on Friday, June 20th, at 2:15 PM.
