Emblem
Travis Lee Crandall, 44, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023, in Houston, Texas after a sudden decline in health and a hard-fought two-week battle in the hospital.

Travis was born on June 13, 1979, to his parents Ted and Anne Crandall in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Cypress Creek High School in 1997 and attended Sam Houston University before joining the U.S. Army in 2006. Travis would go on to serve three tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan as an Army Ranger in the 3rd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment.  Travis received numerous awards and accolades during his service, which included the Ranger Tab, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and the Joint Service Achievement Medal.  After his service, Travis returned to school and graduated from the Universal Technical Institute of Houston.

Travis enjoyed watching old movies and listening to music.  He had a passion for the kitchen and easily showcased his culinary talents in creating amazing one-of-a-kind dishes.  Travis loved being outdoors and enjoyed chip time with his grand puppy dogs.  He had a knack for making people smile and the memories of his laughter will forever echo in our hearts.  Travis was a kind-hearted man and a brave and honorable solider who truly cared about his family and his country.  His consideration and compassion for others were among his many attributes that will be missed.

Travis is preceded in death by his mother, Anne Marie Sabourin (2017), and his father, Ted Joseph Crandall (2018).  Travis is survived by his sister Amanda Kennedy, brother-in-law Brent, and nephew Ed (New Ulm, TX); his sister Ashley and brother-in-law Josh Johnson (Bellville, Texas); his fiancé Colleen Armstrong, stepdaughters Bethany Armstrong and Brianna Armstrong, and Victor Villa (Houston, TX); and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Home at Forest Lawn, 8601 Almeda Genoa Rd.  Military burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. starting promptly at 1:45 p.m. and ending at 2:05 p.m.
