Sonia Vasan

Who was Sonia? She really kept to herself. She was quite the listener and always the strong adviser. First and foremost, she was a teacher and a mentor. Even in her younger days she was the one who held the hand, who talked to the pregnant belly, who taught the little sister how to head bang. She always had the best stories. She loved Miracle train. She never had a shortage of tales from the days when she lived in Finland and toured the metal subculture seeking more information about women in the Death Metal Scene. She loved the nineties... and the eighties. She was always there to lend an ear, always there to nurture. She was a teacher, a friend, and a beautiful soul and will be missed. There is so much to say... but not enough words to say it. I miss her - we all miss her. Goodbye Sonia, you will live on through the lives you've touched and the hearts you've helped.
