Sondra Ray

Sondra Cummings Ray, 61, peacefully passed away September 8, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. Sondra, .known by many as Sandy, is survived by her children, Matthew Ray and wife Melissa Ray. Daughter Jennifer Songster and husband Josh Songster. Her grandchildren, Bailey, Evan and Makinzie Ray and Meredith, Melody and Daniel Songster. She also leaves behind her siblings, Pam Bradshaw, Scott Cummings and wife Shelli, Mark Cummings and David Cummings. Along with many beloved nieces, nephews, Aunts, cousins and many close friends. She is preceded in death by her husband James Ray, her mother Patsy Cummings and her father Luke Cummings.
Sandy grew up in South Houston and moved to the Southbelt area with her husband and children in 1991. She worked in the freight forwarding industry for over 30 years before retiring in 2016. She volunteered often with the Dobie FFA while her children were students there. She went by Sandy or Mama Ray but her favorite was being called Memaw by her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial will be held on Friday, September 14 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1928 Drexel Katy, Texas 77449 from 2:00 - 4:00.
