Shawna Kent

Shawna Utter Kent, age 40, passed away while out for a run on Saturday, August 4. She has been a marathon runner since 2005. Last week she started preparing for her thirteenth marathon to take place in Houston early 2019. She is survived by husband Arron Kent and daughters Olivia (17) and Mallory (15) of the Woodlands, TX., Mary Ellen Utter, Noblesville, IN, (mother), sisters: Tara Kluger, Noblesville, IN; Maria (Vaughan) DePillo, Nashville, TN; Angela (Matt) Davis, Nashville, TN; Robert and Sharon Kent (in laws) Lawrenceburg, IN; Stephanie Kent (sister) and Tony May (brother-in-law), Boston, MA; Adam (brother) and Heidi Kent, Indianapolis, IN; and Bobby (brother) and Arelis (sister-in-law) Lawrenceburg, IN.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Larry Utter. Shawna and Arron were Purdue University college sweethearts. Marriage followed graduation in 2000. At Purdue, Shawna was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. She enjoyed being a teacher's aid at Collins Intermediate School and was looking forward to returning to the classroom next week. A funeral mass will take place at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7801 Bay Branch Dr., The Woodlands, TX at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, followed by a luncheon reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made in Shawna's honor to St. Anthony of Padua: St. Vincent De Paul Society in care of the church.
