Mrs. Rosemary K. Oliver of Houston, TX, 93, died on 03/11/24 at home in her sleep after a brief illness! Rosemary was born in
Philadelphia, PA to Edward P. King and Frances Hankins. Rosemary grew up mainly in Charleston, WV, but when she graduated
high school her family moved to Beaumont, Texas. While attending college she met her beloved husband Jack. They got married
in 1952. Rosemary moved to Houston in 1966 and into her home in Lakeside Estates in 1971.
Rosemary was a loving, kind, and compassionate person. She loved to help others, especially children! Rosemary taught 4th and
5th grade classes at St. Michael's Catholic School for over 20 years. She had a strong spirit and was an active member of St. Cyril's
Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. When she was younger she attended mass several times a week, was a lay minister, taught
6th grade CCE classes, and helped start the "Doorway to Silence" prayer group! She continued to attend mass weekly until her
recent illness. Rosemary used to love to travel especially to Europe with Jack and they even were able to visit Rome and the Vatican
in the early 1990s!
Rosemary was preceded in death by her older son, Patrick R. Oliver (1992), by her beloved husband of 64 years, Jack R. Oliver (2016),
and her brother, Dr.John King (2017)! Rosemary is survived by her younger son Mark E. Oliver, who took care of her the last years
of her life; his children - granddaughter Heather Cook and her husband, Adam, and grandson Michael A. Oliver, and four great
grandchildren, Zoe, Elizabeth, Charlie, and Sabrina Oliver. Rosemary and Heather, who has Cystic Fibrosis (CF),\ had a very close
bond! Rosemary referred to Heather as the daughter that she never had!
There will be a funeral mass for Rosemary K. Oliver on April 8th, 2024 at 2:00 PM @ St Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church,
10503 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77042.
