In Loving Memory of Ronald Curtis Turner, Sr.

1952-2025

With great love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Ronald Curtis Turner Sr., who went to be with our Lord and Savior at 3:58 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025. He was born on October 21, 1952, in Houston, Texas. Ronnie attended Sam Houston High School. He married Donna Lynn Sparks on February 14, 1970.

Ronnie was the strongest person we knew-Steadfast, loving, and full of life. He had a way of turning everyday moments into memories, and his smile was infectious. His family was his world, and he lived with them each day at the center of his heart.

He found immense joy in being a father and was enthusiastic at coaching his son’s sports teams in their childhood years. Ronnie was also a Papaw and Pop Pop who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching their youth sports games.

A true Texan at heart, Ronnie was proud to have grown up on the north side of Houston. He never tired of telling stories from his youth-each one filled with humor, warmth, and a little mischief. You couldn’t hear one without smiling.

His love for country music ran deep, and trips to Nashville brought him pure joy. He was a Houston Astros fan, whether cheering from his living room or sitting in the stands, he never missed a game.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Jackson and Etha Bell Turner, siblings, Jeraldine Turner Vela, Sandra Stewart, and Jerry Turner.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Ronnie Turner, Jr. and wife Carrie, Chris Turner and wife Jessica, Stacia Renee’ and husband David Morrison; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Beckett, August, Izzy, Naudia, Jackson, and Jamison; sisters, Yvonne Taylor and Gloria Morrill; brother Jimmie Turner and wife Julie; as well as countless in-laws, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Though he may be gone from our sight, he will forever remain in our hearts.
