Richard Lee Radford Jr., a cherished father, grandfather, friend, and veteran, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and dear friends. Born on July 24, 1948, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Richard spent his life dedicated to family, friends, and country.

Richard was the beloved son of Richard Lee Radford Sr. and Josie Withers Brown, both of whom predeceased him, along with his brothers Ronnie Radford and Ted F. Radford. Richard leaves behind a legacy through his children, Richard Lee III, Christopher, Andrew, Kimberley (Brian Bailey), Brandon, and Kendra. His adoring grandchildren, William Bailey, Adrianna, and Madison Radford, will forever hold their grandfather's memory close to their hearts. He is also remembered fondly by his close friends Catherine Bissell and Beverly Faulkner, Esther Contreras, his former wife, Jennie Radford and many others.

A proud veteran, Richard dedicated 23 years of his life to serving in the US Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief after an esteemed career in the submarine fleet. Known for his unwavering respect for fellow service members, Richard was always quick to express his gratitude to those who served alongside him.

Richard's life was enriched by his passions and hobbies. He found joy in maintaining his tropical fish aquariums, taking to the open road with his car's top down, and feeling the wind in his hair. His love for fishing and lazy days at the beach brought him peace and happiness.

Through his warm heart and generous spirit, Richard touched the lives of many. His kindness and respect for others were evident in his daily interactions, and his legacy of gratitude and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A service to honor and celebrate Richard's life will be held on October 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 109 North Frazier Street, Conroe, Texas. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Richard are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a veterans' organization of your choice, reflecting Richard's enduring commitment to his fellow servicemen and women.
