Richard Johnson Sr.

Richard Thomas Johnson Sr., age 80, passed away at Memorial Herman Hospital, surrounded by his family on Sunday July 22nd, 2018. He was born on November 14th, 1937 in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Eardley Marshall and Elizabeth (Gustafson) Johnson. Richard attended school in West Chester, from which he attended through the 10th grade. Richard was determined to enter the military tried all branches and served his country in the Army. On June 17th, 1961, he married Ruth Stuckey. Together, they had two children. Richard and Ruth enjoyed traveling together to visit their children and grandchildren as well as spending time with their church family and friends. Richard started his vocation after the military of being a machinist. He was a machinist for multiple companies, Texas Instruments, Haliburton, and Western Atlas. Richard's special interests and hobbies included tinkering and working on clocks. Some of his favorite times out and about were to watch his son bowl, grandchildren play softball and soccer, and having game day with friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ruth; son, Richard Jr., daughter Lisa (Stevens), two grandchildren, Kaitlin (Hirt), and Lauren; Great Grand Son Roger Jr.,and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday September the 8th, at 3 in the afternoon at Living Word Church of the Nazarene, 16607 Clay Rd., Houston, Texas. This will be a celebration of the life of Richard Thomas Johnson Sr. There will be a small reception after the memorial service.
