Patsy Kay Jackson

Patsy Kay (Kennedy) Jackson, 78 departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 31, 2023.  Kay passed away at her home in Weston Lakes, Texas surrounded by loving family members. Kay was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma August 17, 1945.  Her parents were the late Lt. Martin Seth Kennedy of Fox, Oklahoma who died in 1959 and the late Pat (Moore) Kennedy of Healdton, Oklahoma who died at her son’s home in Ninilchik, Alaska in 1999.  Kay spent her younger life being a loved member of the family of a naval officer.  She traveled to many overseas places around the world including the country of Malta.  She and her siblings returned to Healdton, Oklahoma with her mother after the death of her father in 1959 when he was killed in service to his country. Kay met Tarry Jackson in 1963 where they both attended college at Southeastern State College in Durant, Oklahoma. They were married in Marietta, Oklahoma in May of 1964.  Upon graduation from Southeastern, they moved to Plano, Texas.  They were blessed with two children, Guy Jackson and Becky Jackson. Guy Jackson resides in Richmond, Texas with his wife, also named Kay.  Becky lives in Weston Lakes, Texas along with her daughter Jillian Kay Garwick.

They then moved to Houston, Texas in 1970 and continued to reside in the Houston area until present.  Kay was employed as an operator for Texas Instruments.  She also worked as an accountant at Couch Mortgage Company and Transwestern Properties in Houston.  She retired in 2000 after working as a staff assistant with E. Young Insurance in Alief, Texas.

Kay is survived by her former husband Tarry Jackson of Katy, Texas and her two children Guy Jackson and his wife Kay Jackson of Richmond, Texas and Becky Jackson of Fulshear, Texas.  Kay had several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Granddaughter, Jillian Kay Garwick and grandson Robert Patterson, IV.  Great Granddaughters, Hayley Patterson, Hayden Patterson and a Great Grandson Robert Patterson, V.   She had many nieces, Kerri Holt, Amorette Payment, Chrystal Kennedy, Lisa Jackson, and Cassie Gang.  Nephews Mark Kennedy, Travis Kennedy, Seth Kennedy, Marty Kennedy, Jeff Jackson and Toby Jackson.  Kay is preceded in death by both her parents as well as two brothers, Richard Kennedy of Houston and Don Kennedy of Fairbanks, Alaska.  Kay also had a beloved stepsister Barbara (Chapman) Johnson and her husband George of Oklahoma City.  A sister-in-law, Griffin (Cantor) Kennedy of Houston and many more Kennedy family uncles, aunts and cousins from Fox, Oklahoma.

The family would like to especially acknowledge Kay’s brother, Lynn Kennedy and his wife Kathryn, their daughter Amorette and son in law Steve Payment for always being a blessing to us when needed.  We also want to thank Mother’s dear friends Gina Morris and Crystal Brown for always being there.

Thanks to the city of Weston Lakes and Rex Jarrell for flying the city flag at half-mast in honor of Kay’s life.

The family will honor Kay’s life by returning her ashes to the earth in a private ceremony to be later determined.
