Nicholas Ferrantino (November 16, 1944 - May 14, 2024)
A wonderful friend who had a unique sense of humor, a deep appreciation for education, and a love for his pets.
Nicholas Ferrantino, 79 years old, of Brooklyn, New York, died in Houston, Texas, on May 14, 2024.
Nick was born in Brooklyn to Philamena Rossi and Alfonso Ferrantino. He grew up in New York and lived in a multi-generational complex with his parents, grandparents, and extended family. He attended Aviation High School before joining the military.
Nick had a soft spot for his pets and always treated them with love and care. He had an affinity for white cats and believed they brought good luck and fortune. In the years before he started rescuing cats from Friends For Life, he enjoyed caring for Great Danes.
Nick and his friends have a long history that connects different aspects of his life. From his love for airplanes to working at the phone company, he developed relationships that lasted a lifetime.
Nick was passionate about his role as an Electronic Technician for Pan America Airways and as a Communications Technician at AT&T for 37 years. He was always wanting to learn and do more for himself and those around him. So, at the age of 74, he was ordained as a Minister for the Universal Life Church.
Nick will always be remembered for his witty jokes and concern for others. He would always send late-night emails to check in or provide some interesting tidbits of information and sign off as, 'Motoring on, Rev. Nick'. We could not have asked for a better friend and we will miss Nick deeply.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents, Philamena Rossi and Alfonso Ferrantino, and is survived by his brother, Francis Ferrantino.
Viewing will be held on Monday, June 3rd from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Care, 3915 Dacoma, Suite E, Houston, TX, 77092
In lieu of flowers, donations to Friends for Life would be greatly appreciated.
