Michelle Renee Howard-Herbein, 61, passed away on August 8, 2026 in Houston, Texas after a decade-long battle with breast cancer.

Michelle was born on March 7, 1965, in Rochester, Indiana, to Sharon and William Howard. She was a graduate of Marion High School and received her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work at Indiana University. She dedicated her life to helping those in need; her career focused on aiding those with disabilities receive the resources they need in order to thrive.

Her loved ones will remember her passion for serving others, her love of travel, and her adoration of animals. She positively impacted so many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Carie and Jaclynn Herbein. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, her daughters request donations to Summerhouse Houston in Michelle's memory, where she served as CEO from 2018-2025.
