Maximo Olmos

March 15, 1936 — January 30, 2022

Maximo H. Olmos, 85, of Houston, passed away on January 30th 2022.

Maximo was born on March 15th, 1936 to Carlos Olmos & Guadalupe Huerta Olmos in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. After graduating high school, he went on to study at the University of Houston where he also played football for a short time.

After graduation, he first worked as a welder for the Port of Houston, then a master mechanic for Lincoln Mercury and then retired as a master electrician from Amtrak. His love of trains never faded. He was also a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America as an assistant scout leader.

Maximo met his future wife Oralia at a dance and knew right away that they were meant to be. They wed in 1957, going on to have five children, Carlos Max, Alberto, Rossana, Ricardo and Victor Hugo. In 2022, they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Maximo is survived by his loving wife, Oralia, their children (Max & Robin Olmos, Albert & Joy Olmos, Rossana Olmos & Michelle Leggett, Ricky & Annette Olmos and Victor & Elena Olmos), grandchildren (Ashley Ibarro, Thomas & Kathryn Olmos, Ryan & Lisa LeRoy, Jonathan Olmos, Jason Olmos and Elisa Olmos) great-grandchildren (Arin Olmos, Archer Olmos & Nixon Leroy), a sister (Esperanza Garza) and numerous extended families.

Maximo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by many.
