Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Manley died April 11, 2024 in Houston, TX.
Kathy is survived by her children, Faith and Hope; father, Charles; and sisters, Charlene, Marlene, Vivian, Pamela, Valerie and Rebecca. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael “Mike” and mother, Clara.
Kathy was born to Charles and Clara. She married Mike and they adopted Faith and Hope. They raised them in a dedicated Christian home.
Kathy was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She worked many years in various positions at her children’s school, law firm and retired from The Antioch Partners (TAP), a long-term missionary sending organization.
Her children remember her as the most selfless, kind, sacrificial, sweet, strong, genuine, thoughtful person who loved her family and God. They could not have had a better mom. Her children remember making homemade tomato and dumplings with her, spending quality time at the dinner table, going to church together and seeing her play with her grandchildren.
Though Kathy was a gentle-hearted woman she was a fighter. She battled a persistent cancer four times from 2005-2024. She did not complain and put others before herself throughout it all. She was a true reflection of Jesus and an admirable role model.
Kathy was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Her family rejoice knowing she is in heaven with Jesus. Though they are deeply grieved for their loss.
The family would like to thank Marlene Ressler (her sister) for her constant loving support, family, friends, MD Anderson for their outstanding care, hospice and personal care team.
She will be buried at the Houston National Cemetery with her husband Mike. Pastor Brandon Fremion will officiate the private ceremony.
