Lynne Kobrin

Lynne Weintraub Kobrin passed away at the age of 96 on December 31, 2023. Lynne was born in Manhattan, daughter of Jacob Weintraub and Sadie Goldfinger Weintraub, and lived in Brooklyn and Coney Island until her family moved to Miami, Florida while she was still in high school. Lynne worked as a welder during WW II, sold frozen food products and worked as a waitress, restaurant owner and nanny.

She enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading, ceramics, travel, Texas Hold-’Em poker, Yahtzee, bingo and completing the NY Times crossword puzzle in pen! She was a long time fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Houston Rockets. Her favorite television shows included “Monk” and “Murder She Wrote”, as well as the ABC soap operas “Ryan’s Hope”, “All My Children”, “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital”. Her favorite foods were ice cream, fried catfish, crab legs, eggplant parmigiana and ice cream (!).

Lynne was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Jack Kobrin. She loved the holidays, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children:

A memorial in celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, January 6th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at West Montgomery Community Center, 31355 Friendship Drive, Magnolia, TX 77355
