Linnet Libby Ludtke

January 7, 1964 — December 14, 2023

Linnet Libby Ludtke passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023 in Katy, TX at the age of 59 years. She was born in Pasadena, TX on January 7, 1964 to Doug and Peggy Libby.

Linnet grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. Her family frequently traveled to Texas to visit both sets of her grandparents who had roots in East Texas. She loved animals from a young age, particularly dogs and horses. After graduating from Eastside High School in 1982, Linnet moved to Texas to attend college. She began college at Sam Houston State University, where she met Jim Ludtke, her future husband. She went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Education from The University of Houston.

Linnet and Jim married on March 14, 1987. She went on to teach for over 26 years, with most of those years spent at Bleyl Middle School where she taught History and World Cultures before retiring in December, 2020.

Linnet and Jim raised two daughters in Spring, TX (apart from a few years away) and were actively involved in the girl’s extra curriculars, whether it be swim team, dance, choir, and various church and youth groups. Linnet enjoyed cooking for her family as well as trying new foods. She spent many hours walking their dogs, and planting and caring for her flowers in the yard. In 2017, she dubbed herself Granny with the arrival of her first grandchild, and she spent many weekends each month doting on and making memories with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Elvin and Maggie Davis and Travis and Millie Libby

Linnet is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jim, her daughters, Alyssa (husband, Ross) and Ashley, and 3 grandchildren, Becket, Bennet, and Blaire; her parents, Doug and Peggy Libby, her sister, Lisette (husband, Dan) and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
