John Martin Ladd, a man who brought warmth, laughter, and an undeniably big heart to everyone he met, passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 39.
Born on September 2, 1986, John was the third child of David and Sharon Ladd. Raised in Bellaire, Texas, he grew up with a natural charm and an easygoing nature that made him incredibly popular among his peers. John was the kind of person who never took himself too seriously, preferring instead to lift the spirits of those around him with his light-hearted approach to life and his generous soul.
John’s passion for people guided his career in hospitality and restaurant management, where his welcoming energy and knack for connecting with others truly shone. Outside of work, John was a kid at heart. He was an enthusiastic fan of movies, comics, cartoons, music and of course, Houston sports. He was always ready to share a King of the Hill quote, or chat about last night’s game.
Above all, John’s greatest joy was his son, Jack, whom he loved fiercely.
John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, David and Sharon Ladd. His memory and light will be carried on by his son, Jack; his brother, Jason, and his wife, Shannon; his sister, Jennifer, her husband Michael and their children Michelle and Michael; and his sister, Georgeanna, her husband Brandon and their child Charlie, alongside his Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and a community of friends who will miss his bright presence deeply.
A memorial service and a true celebration of John’s life will be scheduled for a later date.
In honor of John’s memory, gifts and donations may be sent to the Houston Aphasia Recovery Center.
