Our beloved father James Oliver Shirley Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on May 3, 2023 at the age of 79. He is survived by one sister, Elaine Star, two sons, one daughter and nine grandchildren.
He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 11, 1943. His childhood in Kansas City instilled a lifelong passion for football, travel, and business, and he loved to speak about these things with anyone who would listen.
He leaves behind his children of three, Jamesetta Shirley, 57; Leon Watkins, 54; and James Shirley Jr., 44. He was preceded in death by his father, James Willie Shirley, and his mother, Jessie Marie Franklin.
The memorial service will be held at Integrity Funeral Care, May 12, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. All family and friends are welcome.
