James De La Garza, age 56, of Houston, Texas, was born on February 10, 1969, and passed away on January 31, 2026, in Houston, Texas.

James was a man known for his humor, strength, and resilience. A true fighter, he experienced a powerful transformation in his life and became a devoted man of God. Those who knew him saw not only his quick wit and laughter, but also the depth of his faith and the love he carried for his family.

He spent most of his life as a truck driver, working hard to provide and taking pride in the road he traveled. In his free time, James enjoyed bike rides and fishing—simple pleasures that brought him peace and joy.

James is survived by his loving children, Alex and Anthony De La Garza; his mother, Hope De La Garza; his cherished granddaughter, Olivia De La Garza; as well as his siblings, Adam De La Garza and Sandra Sanchez. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 10, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Garden Oaks Baptist Church.
