May 4th, at 11:37AM after complications from a staph infection and liver disease, Dean went to be with Jesus. No more suffering, no more pain.

Dean's passions in life were sports and music. Those two passions were evident in everything he did. He used those passions to serve. He was a leader, a difference maker in the lives of others.

Some of you know Dean as #40 the best running back, the best player on the field at MacArthur High School, if not the best in the district. As a sophomore he rushed over 1000 yards that year. Continued breaking his records through his senior year. You played along-side of him or cheered him on from the stands and will never forget those memories and the fun times you had. Go Generals!

Many of you know Dean from growing up together in his dad's church, Greenwood Village. Month long tent revivals, Bible Conferences hearing great men of God preach, you sat in the congregation as he lead us in hymns of worship. The unforgettable summer camps at our church youth camp...Beulah Land in Nacogdoches, TX. Dean organized the athletics as our activity leader. He led us in praise songs under the tabernacle about Jesus and our walk with Christ. Who could forget his part in the Tennessee Five Band who entertained us night after night? So many of us in our days of youth gave our hearts and lives to Christ at Beulah Land and our walk with the Lord was strengthened. Oh, Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land!

Others know Dean simply, but powerfully...as "Coach". As the head football and basketball Coach at Greenwood Village he made such a difference in the lives of his students. Many say they don't know where they would be today if it wasn't for his help and guidance. They remember him as a Coach of greatness and love him to this day. Go Bobcats!

You may know Dean as a Houston Police Officer. Dean served the city of Houston for 27 years before retiring. He was on the HPD softball team. One of his favorite fun memories was when they played the local Channel 13 news team in the Astrodome and the police team won! He loved helping other people and problem solving in this capacity.

In the last ten years he has been selflessly helping my mom and dad and serving them.

Dean is survived by and will be missed everyday by his daughters, Candace Hoelscher and Morgan Carpenter; his two grandchildren, Ramsey and Kennedy Hoelscher; his son-in-law, Blake Hoelscher; his father, Harold Dean Clayton Sr.; his mother, Mary Ellen Clayton; his two sisters, Caren Erwin and Christy Cousineau; his brother-in-law, Robert Cousineau; his loving Aunts and Uncles, nephews, cousins and many, many great friends.

We know that Dean is with Jesus now. Reunited with his brother, Darryl, who he loved and missed so much since his sudden passing in 2000. Also reunited with his grandmothers, Dorothy "Me-maw" Clayton and Billie "Grammy" Ramsey.

We were blessed to have him in our lives. Our love for him lives on. He will live on through his children and grandchildren. So thankful for the hope we have in Christ. We will see him again someday.
