Gloria Alicia Garcia

Gloria Alicia Saenz Garcia, age 77, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 17, 1948, in Hebbronville, Texas, to Pedro G. Saenz and Josefina Navejar Saenz.

Gloria, lovingly known as “Yaya,” was the heart of her family and a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, tia, and friend. Her strength, love, and spirit left a lasting mark on everyone she met. She graduated from William Adams High School in Alice, Texas, in 1967, and dedicated much of her life as a paraprofessional with the Houston Independent School District at Gallegos Elementary School, lovingly caring for children with special needs. Her work was a true reflection of her patience, compassion, and generous spirit. She poured so much of herself into others and did so with strength and grace.

She is survived by her children: Leticia, Alberto, Michael (Laura), and Gabriel; siblings: Maria Narvaez, Adriana Moreno, Edna Silerio, Irma Gonzalez, Araceli Molina, Eloisa Sanchez, and Pedro E. Saenz; grandchildren: Jonathon Lopez, Jennifer Rodriguez, Janice Garza, Alberto Ibar Garcia, Jr., Juan Carlos Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Krystle Limon, Marissa Garcia, Layla Garcia, Aliyah Flores, Gabrielle Vazquez, and Gabriel Antonio Vazquez; and great-grandchildren: Alberto Ibar Garcia, III, and Jayden King Garcia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ibar Garcia, and her parents, Pedro G. Saenz and Josefina Navejar Saenz.

She will be remembered for her kindness, frankness, her jokes, and the love she gave so freely. Her passion for life and family will forever be cherished as a legacy of laughter and love.

The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time.

A visitation for Gloria will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed immediately by a funeral service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Integrity Funeral Home at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8601 Almeda Genoa Rd., Houston, TX 77075.
