Enrique Henry Rico was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Ann, his daughters Maria Puschinsky Tahmaseb and Adela Shows, granddaughters Audrey Puschinsky and Abby Shows, and sons-in-law Mozi Tahmaseb and Toby Shows.
Enrique was born in Chile. He completed a Masters Degree in Fine Arts. Enrique was an officer and pilot in the Chilean Air Force and a diplomat In the Chilean Diplomatic Service. In 1956 Enrique emigrated to the United States where he later attained full citizenship. He also studied art at the University of Utah.
Enrique met the love of his life Mary Ann in Maine where they married on December 15, 1962. They later settled in Houston, Texas to raise their family.
Enrique was Art Director of the Houston Chronicle for many years and later Art Director of Weiner’s Department Store. He also did freelance advertising art. His true passion was oil painting, pen and ink drawings and water color.
Enrique was known for his remarkable gardens built by hand and his love of opera and classical music. He was also a Mason.
Enrique loved people, nature and animals. He loved America and lived with complete exuberance and pride in his family.
Celebration of Life service and reception will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 in the morning at:
