Doug Knab
6-22-1945 to 11-18-2020

Doug passed away on November 18, 2020 after a 7 year battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. Doug was born on June 22, 1945 in South Bend, Indiana and was an avid fan of Notre Dame football. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Terry Knab and together they made a home full of love for each other and hospitality for others. Doug is also survived by his daughter Lisa Frazier and her husband Ben, and his son Mark Knab all of whom he loved dearly. He will miss his three sisters, Priscilla Richardson and her husband Phil Richardson of England, Virginia Knab of Alpine, TX and his youngest sister, Monica Knab of Indianapolis, Indiana. Doug was a loving brother that could be counted on and a faithful son to his deceased father and mother, Oscar and Mary Knab. Doug loved his nieces and nephews and their children. As a young man Doug taught himself to play the acoustic and bass guitars and was in a band he formed with friends. They played both rock and roll and polkas. Doug graduated from Indiana University with a masters degree in geology in the spring of 1971. Doug's greatest passion in life was flying. Doug flew as a private pilot for over 50 years. He also began to build his own airplanes and enjoyed helping others to build their own planes too. He will be missed by many.
