Donald Smith

Donald Henry Smith, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 23, 2020. He was a proud Eagle Scout, a 4009th Army combat military police officer, a fanatic 1963 LSU graduate and a Sigma Chi "Life Loyal Sig". Don was born to John Franklin Smith Jr. and Faye Belle Smith in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 29, 1939. Don is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Sue Hill Smith; daughter, Lisa Lane Gonzales and her husband, Joe; son, Troy Don Smith and his wife, Christy; daughter, Shawn Marie Esparza and her husband, Erik and granddaughter, Emily; and daughter, Terri Lynn Lockler and The Dude; sister, Rholene Wilson and her husband, Hank and cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to name. He loved fishing and hunting, the sun and ocean, backyard barbeques, ice cream and Symphony candy bars, spending time with friends and family and loved the Lord and his Tiger Babies - Geaux Tigers!
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Inspire Church located at 11727 East Sam Houston Parkway North, Houston, TX 77044.
