DeEtte (Dee) Howell

May 21, 1953 — December 10, 2023

Dee was given her well deserved angel wings

Dee was born in Evanston Illinois and moved to Houston as a toddler.  She has lived in the Montrose area her adult life.

Dee had a magical way with plants and put that magic to work when she ran the greenhouse for the City of Houston.  She worked for the City for more than 25 years.  Many of the gardens and parks in the downtown and Memorial area benefitted from her magic touch. She was the City’s liaison to many garden clubs and was instrumental in creating the Houston Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas.

Dee will be missed by many friends and family - sisters Marcy Bronner (Michael) and Susan Caudle.  Nieces - Michaela Palovick (Mark); Natalie Bronner, Lydia DeLong (Reagan) and Nephews - Chris Caudle (Mary) and Michael Caudle (Julie).  Great nieces and nephews - Scarlett, Reece, Grace, Kate, Ella, Evie and her extended family- Peggy Moore, Melissa Cruz, Danika LaBrant(Eric), Dorothy Queener (Ted), Andrea, Jordan, Caleb, Kyle  and Jacob.

A special thank you to her dear friends Ruth, Quealy, Karen, Melissa, Nick, Tommy and her caretaker Rosa.

A celebration of Life will be held soon with details forthcoming
