Deborah “Debbie” Ann Baker

Deborah “Debbie” Ann Baker, 59, passed away on June 15, 2025, in Hockley, Texas. Born on August 18, 1965, in Mobile, Alabama, Debbie died after an almost year long battle against cancer. Her fight was long and hard but in Debbie’s true form, she faced it bravely and fought hard to the very end. Debbie brought light and joy into the lives of all who knew her.

Debbie is survived by her devoted husband and soul mate, Donald Baker. Their love story was one of deep connection and transformation – Debbie unlocked Don’s heart and taught him how to love again. She also leaves behind her beloved bonus daughter, Jennifer, whose recent graduation from nursing school at UT Arlington filled Debbie with immense pride. Jennifer’s roommate Thu also became a cherished bonus daughter to Debbie and Don.

Debbie also leaves behind her younger brother George Roberts (always, to Debbie, with great pride, The Full Bird Colonel in the Marines) and his wife, Angela and their children, Brittany White, her husband Stuart and a daughter, Evelyn and twin boys, George and Arthur and, Dustin Roberts and his wife, Jayme and their two daughters, Ellie and Lily, and her stepsons, Chad Baker, his wife Charli and their two girls, Kenedy and Olivia and Daniel Baker, his wife Tanisha and their two children, Sophia and Wyatt. She loved to bake and craft with her grandbabies and always showed patience and love in every moment. She felt very blessed to have gotten to spend time with Dan and his family in her final hours.

Debbie is also survived by her beloved and devoted aunts, Georgia Ruth Lee, Tempie Laurent and uncles Pat and Bob (Robert III) and his wife Glenda. She has spent countless days making glorious memories throughout her life with her aunts, uncles and cousins and has always been extremely grateful to have them close in her life and on her team throughout her fight with cancer as well.

Debbie now joins in peace her cherished aunt Triss (Patricia Masters), her grandparents Paw and Maw (Lon and Elizabeth Roberts), her aunt Pam, mother-in-law, Sylvia Speer, brother-in-law, Ronnie Baker plus many other relatives and friends there to welcome her with open arms.

She was a woman of boundless energy and warmth; Debbie lived her life to the fullest. She had a passion for cooking and loved to enter Chili and Barbecue Cook Offs – her entries were always among the best – and she found great joy in deep sea fishing and vacationing with family and friends. Her generous spirit extended beyond her circle; she was deeply committed to giving back to her community and was a lifelong supporter of our troops.

Debbie’s Southern Baptist faith was a cornerstone of her life. It guided her actions and gave her strength through every chapter. Her vibrant personality lit up every room she entered – she loved endlessly, laughed freely, and embraced each moment with enthusiasm.

May Deborah Ann “Debbie” Baker’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of many.
