Deanna Lea Gibson, born May 31, 1939, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, leaving behind a loving family, dear friends, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Deanna was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Franklin Gibson, and her brother, Jon David Pippy. She is survived by her son, Steven Marion Gibson, and his wife, Deneen Gibson; her daughter, Terri Gibson McFarling, and her husband, Brian McFarling; her beloved grandchildren, Matthew William Gibson, Andrew Steven Gibson, Abigail Grace McFarling, and Molly Elizabeth McFarling; and three cherished nieces.
Deanna was born in Toronto, Canada, where she lived until moving to the United States at age 12. She attended Tyler High School, where she was a majorette. After graduation, she moved to Houston and began working at Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Corporation, where she met the love of her life, William “Bill” Gibson. They married on November 25, 1961, and shared 61 years of marriage. Together, Bill and Deanna found great joy in raising their children, traveling, and spending time with one another.
Deanna loved the Lord Jesus Christ deeply, and her faith was the guiding light of her life. Bible Study Fellowship held a special place in her heart, finding her love for the Lord and helping her grow in her walk with Jesus. For many years, she lovingly called Bethel her church home, where her faith continued to flourish and she formed treasured, lifelong friendships with people who became like family.
She devoted herself to helping others and glorifying God through prayer, visits with friends, and baking sweet treats for those who were unable to bake for themselves. Through these simple yet meaningful acts of kindness, she brought comfort, joy, and a sense of love to all who were blessed to know her.
Deanna will be lovingly remembered for the love, strength, and kindness she shared throughout her life. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Her family will carry her memory forward with enduring love and gratitude.
