✨ In Loving Memory of David Chacon Sr.

David Chacon Sr., 72, passed away on April 5, 2026. He was a loyal and dedicated husband, a loving father, and a man known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and deep love for his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ingrid Chacon, whose companionship meant everything to him; his son, David Chacon Jr.; his daughter, Melina Chacon; and his stepdaughters, Nelly Luna Bennefield and Gabriela Luna. He also leaves behind extended family and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a cherished brother, uncle, and friend.

Born in El Paso, Texas, into a family of nine siblings, he is survived by his eldest sister, Esolia; his brothers, Enrique and Nemecio; and his youngest sister, Gloria.

He dedicated many years of his life to the oil and gas industry, where his strong work ethic and commitment were evident to all who knew him. Outside of his career, he found joy in improving and maintaining his home, taking great pride in his tools and the work of his hands. He found genuine satisfaction in doing things with care, dedication, and attention to detail.

We also honor him as a proud military veteran. He served on active duty in the United States Army for six years and four months, from July 21, 1976, to February 20, 1983. During his service, his son, David, was born. Trained as a Construction Equipment Repairer, he worked extensively as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic while stationed in Germany and later supported the mission of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) at Peterson Air Force (now Space Force) Base in Colorado Springs. He concluded his service with the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and an Honorable Discharge at the Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 4th Engineer Battalion, at Fort Carson, Colorado. His honors include the Army Service Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Expert Badge (Rifle, M-16), and the Expert Badge (Hand Grenade).

Throughout his life, his kindness was deeply felt by those around him. In his later years, he treasured time spent with his grandchildren. In earlier years, he frequently and generously opened his home to family members facing difficult circumstances, offering support without hesitation. Among those he helped, he took in and helped care for his ailing mother in her final days. At different times, he also took in his sister, his brother, various nieces, and nephews, two of whom he raised, providing them with safety, stability, and love.

He held a deep and enduring belief in the importance of family unity—one that he lived out not only in words, but through consistent and selfless action.

Above all, David loved his wife deeply. He cherished the time they spent together, especially traveling and dreaming about new places they would explore side by side. His love was simple, genuine, and constant. His final message to her, “Te amo,” along with plans for their next destination, is a reflection of the love he carried in his heart every day.

David will be remembered for his reliability, his quiet strength, and the way he showed up for those he loved. His presence brought comfort and stability, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
