Darlene Bell

November 19, 1931 — April 26, 2015

Darlene Marie Williams Bell On April 26, 2015 at the age of 83 our loving mother and grandmother made her finial transition to sing with the angels in the Heavenly choir. Darlene was born on November 19, 1931 to Benjamin Williams and Susie Beatrice Tyler Williams in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry L. Bell; and her sister, Leona Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Henry Lowell Bell (Martha Mitchell Bell) of Houston, TX; two nieces: Shirley Hopes (Felton) of Edna, TX; Felicia Dailey (Reginald) of Corpus Christi, TX; one nephew: (Michael Bellinger of San Marcos, TX; five grandchildren: Honré Bell (Temirra) of South Korea; Jerry Bell (Bonnie) of Houston, TX; Danté Bell (Dedra) of Houston, TX; Aquita Montgomery (Rondale) and Arsha Bell (twins) of Houston, TX; ten great-grandchildren: Ahren Bell, Amaya Bell, Jekovan and Joslyn Montgomery (twins), Payton Bell, Xavier Bell, Arsha Bell, Jr., Danyelle Bell, Dylan Bell, Kaden Bell; and a host of relatives and friends. Darlene joined St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in 1939 and was baptized by her beloved cousin and pastor, the late Rev. B. E. Joshua. She served in the music ministry under the pastorates of the late Rev C. H. Warren, the late Rev E. Grant, Rev. Dale Laster, and current senior. pastor Rev Arthur L. Lane until her health began to fail. Darlene received her basic education through the Corpus Christi ISD. After Darlene graduated from Cosmetologist School and received her certification in 1973, she was employed as a manicurist for Lichtenstein's Department store Beauty Salon. Later Darlene retired after 20 years of service at her Alma Mater, Solomon M. Coles Special Emphasis School. Home going celebration will be held Saturday May 9, 2015 11:AM at the St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church With Sr. Pastor Arthur Lane officiating Rose Hill cemetery
