Alejandro Varela

Alejandro Varela Canal, age 54, passed away on Sunday, Dec 1st, 2019 in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his two children, Juanita Varela and Lucas Varela Chavez, his two sisters Liliana Varela and Pilar Grau and his father Gerardo Varela Renteria. He was preceded in death by his Mother Alicia Canal Irwin and Brother Carlos Gerardo Varela. Alejandro was born on October 13th, 1965 in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia; he attended Seminario Diocesano San Jose and, at the early age of 17, moved to the United States. He raised two beautiful children with Maria Varela and developed expertise in framing with his successful business, Memories Etc.

Alejandro was a passionate drummer, lover of the arts, dedicated framer and loving father. His powerful voice commanded the room, his green eyes sparkled and his jokes filled the room with laughter. It wasn't often that one would run into Alejandro without him having a Coca - Cola or a drumstick in his hand. He contributed many things to this earth... love and laughter was the most important.

Family, friends and others are invited to Integrity Funeral Care at 3915 Dacoma St., Suite E, Houston, Texas 77092 from 3pm-6pm on Saturday, December 14th to reminisce, grieve, support, and celebrate Alejandro's life.
