Michael Vargas, Sr. "Big Mike" was born on March 5, 1955 in Artesia, New Mexico to Clyde and Eloisa Vargas.  He passed away on June 11, 2009 at the age of 54 years. 

Big Mike is survived by his parents of Roswell, New Mexico;  his wife of 36 years, Prescilla; his three children: Michael Vargas, Jr. "Lil Mike" (Kacy), Steven Clyde Vargas, and Sheila Ann Vargas (Andrew).
He is also survived by four grandchildren: Macy Erin Vargas, Samantha Michelle Vargas, Hailey Amber Vargas and Pierce Anthony Jackson. He has two brothers: Joe Vargas (Mariann) of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Christopher Vargas of Las Vegas, Nevada; One sister: Elsa Jenkins (Tom) of Seminole, Texas.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Big Mike was preceded in death by his grandson Cody Aaron Vargas and both sets of grandparents.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Shoemaker, Debi, Elizabeth and Keli, and also the staff of Houston Hospice, especially his nurse Leisha and aide Monica, for the wonderful care they gave Big Mike.

Big Mike was loved by all who knew him.  His family came first but his love of music was always there.
